Privacy policy
This policy explains how Lunar Calendar (www.lcalendar.com, "the site") handles your information.
Information the site collects
The site needs no account and has no forms, so it does not collect your name, email address or other personal details. Your settings (language, dark or light theme, holiday country, time display and astronomical mode) are stored only on your own device in your browser's localStorage and are never sent to our servers. Clearing your browser's site data deletes them.
Advertising and cookies
- The site shows ads through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising in Google's My Ad Center, or opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.
- To learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see Google's explanation.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the site asks for your consent to cookies and personalized ads through a Google-certified consent management platform.
Fonts and hosting
Fonts are served by Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers to download them. Our hosting and content delivery network (CDN) providers may automatically log technical information such as IP address, browser type and access time for security and operations.
Weather forecasts
Weather shown on the home page and city pages is requested from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute (MET Norway) by this site's server and cached there. For built-in cities only the city’s fixed coordinates are used; if you use “My location” or a custom place, the coordinates are rounded to two decimals (about 1 km) before they are sent. The site does not log these requests and does not pass your IP address or other personal data to MET Norway. “My location” requires your permission in the browser, and the coordinates and custom places are stored only in your browser. Forecast data is used under the CC BY 4.0 licence. The city you pick is remembered in your browser for next time.
Children's privacy
The site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU GDPR or California's CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access or delete data about you. Because the site itself stores no personal data, please use Google's tools above for advertising-related requests, and email us about anything else.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date above.
